Goldie Smash Burgers with Mac-Mustard Burger Sauce

036A5217.jpg

Our Goldie burgers are sure to be a smash hit in any household. Kiwi beef paired with our tangy American mustard and a homemade Mac-style sauce on a soft brioche bun. Serve with your favourite sides, and top it off with a cold one to wash it all down.

Serves: 4
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
500g beef mince
2 Tbsp Sweet Sting Goldie (squirts are more fun)
8 slices cheddar cheese
4 brioche burger buns, toasted
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce

Mac-Mustard Burger Sauce
½ cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp finely chopped gherkins
1 Tbsp Sweet Sting Goldie (squirts are more fun)
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp salt
METHOD
1.    For the burger sauce, mix together mayonnaise, chopped gherkins, Sweet Sting Goldie, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and salt in a small bowl and set aside.

2.    Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large frying pan over medium to high heat. Divide the beef mince into eight even-sized balls. Place two meatballs at a time into the pan and use a large spatula to press on each meatball and smash into 1cm thick patties. Sear for 1-2 minutes and brush with Sweet Sting Goldie and season with salt and pepper.

3.    Flip the patties, sear for 1-2 minutes, and brush and season the other side before topping each patty with a cheese slice. Sear for another minute, or until the cheese has softened and the patty is cooked to your liking. Transfer to a plate or tray and continue to cook the remaining patties.

4.    Build your burgers starting with a dollop of burger sauce on the bottom bun. Stack two cheesy patties on each, followed by tomato slices, shredded iceberg lettuce, more burger sauce and the top bun. Serve and enjoy.
